I don’t feel BAD for Erika Kirk

Last night, I watched as Charlie Kirk’s wife addressed the nation. This came 2 days after her husband’s assassination. The conclusion I came to was, I don’t feel bad for Erika Kirk.

I would feel bad for her if she wasn’t surrounded by a supportive community.

- But what I gathered from what she had to say was that she has a mother who loves her and loved her husband. She has an incredible team at turning point USA that has rallied around her. She attends a Bible believing church.

She is living in community with fellow believers, who will help her to move forward.

I would feel bad for her if she wasn’t a believer and didn’t have HOPE. But she has FAITH that she will be united with her husband again in eternity. She knows with confidence that she will see her man again. Grief and loss are different for those of us who have the hope of eternity. We have the PEACE of Jesus. HE sustains us in our times of trouble.

Again, I would feel bad for her if she didn’t have HOPE and chose to live as a victim. But she has made it very clear that SHE WILL RISE from these ashes, and her husband’s death will not be in vain. His death is launching pad for her fierce battle!! She stated that she will continue his mission.

This woman is on fire for Jesus.

  • Erika will follow God's will, even when it means standing out from the world.

  • She has a deep, burning love for God and it appears her faith is genuine.

  • Clearly she will use this horrible situation to draw others to JESUS.

  • The Kirk’s are “Making Heaven Crowded”

Erika knew she was well loved by her husband.

  • When a woman is loved and cherished, she is empowered to reach her full potential and naturally exudes confidence, joy, and kindness.

  • Her confidence in her distress bears witness to how great her marriage was.

  • The LOVE Charlie had for her has enabled her to blossom and become a stronger version of herself.

  • She stated that her husband was “fierce” and “bold” and last night, these were exactly the qualities that I would use to describe her!

This woman knows her worth and value come from what the Bible - GOD’S WORD - says about her. She is a strong Godly woman.

So - no - don’t feel BAD for her. She will move mountains. She has the strength of a loving community surrounding her. I believe this will only make her stronger in the long run.

My heart aches for her. I cannot fathom the amount of pain she is suffering right now. My sympathies are with her. But I’m not going to sit around in silence pitying her and living in fear.

I don’t know this woman, but I don’t believe she would want everyone sitting around feeling sorry for her either. I believe - based off of what she shared last night - she wants us to be strong and to keep sharing the message of Jesus Christ. I think she would want all of us to be using her husband‘s death as an example as to how seriously we need to be taking our next steps. We need to be fighting together in the name of Jesus, not fighting against each other.

We need to be helping her to continue her husband’s legacy. We need to be reaching the masses for Jesus. We need to be speaking the truth boldly for Christ.

She was very clear that she will not cower in fear. SHE WILL RISE in the face of adversity.

If Charlie Kirk’s widow isn’t laying around pouting and scrolling the Internet…

Why should we be doing that??

It’s time to GET UP AND GO!

Now is the time for revival!!

AWAKE OH SLEEPER!

This verse acts as a CALL TO ACTION for believers to actively receive and embody the light of Christ, which produces goodness, righteousness, and truth.

Ephesians 5:14 “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light!”

This verse serves as an encouragement to those who have been spiritually asleep to awaken, to shed the darkness, and to receive the light and truth that Christ provides. It is part of a passage where Paul encourages believers to live as children of light rather than participating in the fruitless deeds of darkness.

Believe in your ability to grow and learn from any situation! Don’t give up! Be persistent and persevere through evil times.

Keep choosing Jesus.

Keep sharing HIS TRUTH!

As a result of Charlie Kirk’s death, we should be rising from the ashes. There is no better time than now to be reaching out to the lost - in love - and sticking out a hand to pull them up.

Be kind. Ask questions. Be ready to listen to the answers of those questions. Be ready to engage with people. Be ready to share the gospel!!

Life is short. We have no time to waste.

May God bless you and protect you in the days to come!
